Madrid

The pictures below are from my few days in Madrid.  By far the most enthralling experience I had in Madrid was getting to explore El Prado and the Reina Sophia museums.  These you can only see in person so you MUST make it to Madrid if you are so inclined to see these outstanding works by the most talented Spanish and other European artists.  Madrid was a neat city.  I LOVED the Parque del Retiro.   It was enormous, had really amazing groomed gardens, a big pond with fish and row boats, plenty of statues, little museums, and walkways with trees to sit and eat ice cream under.  We had a really neat walking tour with our hostel...where Cochi and I met Allie from New Zealand. The three of us had a fun couple of days together!

Allie and I discovered this amazing food market where they sold tapas of all kinds for just a euro or two, wine, sangria, beer, and HUGE dessert bars.  Allie and I got really fat and happy at this little gem of a market and had the best night walking around the city, talking girl-talk.  Enjoy the pictures of Madrid!  I have to apologize for the sideways pictures.  I am having to edit them on a different program and after I flipped them they flipped themselves back when I uploaded them onto the blog.  I unfortunately don't ahve time to go back and flip them all back so there are plenty of pictures you might hace to tilt your head to see ;)

Me & my Argentinian friend, Hector Ricardo Gorostordoy Scopponi.  He like to be called my his full name.

"It was over water that my walls of fire were built."

I thougt it might be good luck

These beautiful elephants are on the walls of the Banco de Madrid, made out of the most expensive marble in the world!
