weekend retreat to Bath

I spent a weekend in Bath with an amaaaaazing host family (friends of Uncle Robert and Uncle Bill) who live just outside of Bath in this precious little cottage on the English countryside.  The area was unbelievably charming: the stone houses, the people, the gardens, nature, the little pubs, roads, and all the rest!  The roads to get to the house were literally ONE car wide.  I think I saw more people riding horses than I did people driving cars.  There were all kinds of singing birds, baaing sheep, badgers, rabbits, owls.  The gardens and yards were all well tended to.  And the green pastures, old growth forests, streams, hedges, old trees...oooohhhh it was beautiful!  We did do one day in town doing the tourist thing: walked the plaza, climbed up the Bell tower at the Abbey, toured the Roman baths (incredible!).  Overall it was a weekend to remember, FULL of great company, unique pieces of nature, delicious food (and wine)...one more reason to LOVE the UK<3
