Park Guell, BCN

El Parque Guell...My FAVORITE palce to frequent in Barcelona!  The first day Beren and I went with her friend of almost 10 years, Miguel (who now lives in Barcelona).  He lives right up the road so we walked to the park from his house, which was really amazing!  Miguel is so entertaining and FUNNY. I loved hanging with he and my Berenguelita, never a dull moment! ("Las rubias no somos tontas. Las rubias no somos tontas..." aaaaajajajajajaja). Inside joke.

The next few times I went I went for various reasons: exercise, listen to music, relax, write, people watch.  I LOVE it there!  The park is sooooooo beautiful, and myseterious, and I feel like everytime I go I find a new little nook to chill out in.  There is a lot of influence by Gaudi which makes it quirky and fun.  There are all these little rock arc structures which are pathways to walk down, all kinds of neat gardens and kids parks to explore.  It is very touristy, naturally, but what is so cool about Barcelona is that there is an abundance of amazing musicians, artisans, and street performers.  It makes it a little easier to deal with the abundance of tourists when you can sit down, relax, and literally get put in a trance to the beautiful music.  Beren and I danced it out to Microguagua, a reggae band from SA, got lost in a deep meditation to some African beats, were touched deeply by a man playing Spanish guitar.  Then of course there were some American blues players, and rock n' rollers!  The acoustics inside the arched tunnels are amazing for smooth instruments (guitars, flutes, African instruments).  Oh, my days at the Park have been truly amazing!  I will never ever forget my experiences here, pure magic <3
