London...take one

London is fantastic!  Thus far I love everything about it...the people, the accents, the tube, the architecture, the old brick buildings, the curvy romantic streets, the lovely green trees, the ecclectic FASHION!!  This likely has something to do with where I have the pleasure of staying.  Karen & Daniel live in Regent's Park, in a quaint little flat on the 4th floor overlooking the (apparently) very popular Regent's Park Rd.  Loads of celebrities live around here, though, since I am not British do not recognize many of them ;) We went walking around the neighborhood yesterday and saw the park which has a beautiful view of the city.  It has been mid-60's and sunny for the past 2 days so people are out everywhere!  Daniel just finished his exams on Friday so his family came over last night to celebrate.  We had an Ecuatorian Fiesta in London!!  Food (arroz con carne y ensalada), dancing (salsa, cumbia, merengue), speaking spanish, so many laughs...I felt right at home!!  Between the beer, wine, and jet-lag I was in bed by 10pm and did not wake up until 10 am.  Which was just in time for the street festival that took place on the street directly below the flat!  We porused booths with art, clothes, jewelry, loads of delicious food and desserts, listened to some live jazz, and took lots of pictures!  We ended up at Queens, an English Pub just by the park drinking pints, hanging with Karen's friends, and talking life and music festivals.  Just as I expected, I can't get over the accents here!  I don't care whether someone is telling you they love your style or telling you to eff-off, it all sounds so pleasant!  There's no doubt I will pick up some British vocab to bring back home.  Some of my favorites: "that's brilliant", "cheers", "bloody".  I shouldn't (already) be saying this, but I could absolutely seeing myself living here.  Would be the perfect location to be based from to take a couple years and explore Europe and Scandanavia.

Below are a few pictures from the street fair today.  I got some lovely ones yesterday of the park and the EC party, but unfortunately my computer is not converting the raw photos so those will have to wait until I find a program to convert them from the raw format.  Tomorrow I am off to Kings Lynn for the first day of UK potato industry marekting tours!  More pics and stories to come.  I miss you and love you ALL. Cheers!
